In January 2000, a severe back injury sent me to surgery. Soon after surgery my pain became worse than it was before. The medical world calls it “failed back syndrome”.

What I experienced was constant, severe, leg burning pain that interrupted my life, my sleep and even my friends & family at times.

My greatest progress was when I attended 6 weeks of intensive classes at the HELP Clinic in San Mateo. The clinic did not focus so much on reducing pain … but, “living with pain”.

Next came a NEVRO Spinal Stimulator in-plant. This device did reduce my pain from an average 8-7 to 5-4. I am grateful.

What I have learned is to live my life to the fullest anyway … and on every day.
